I thought the other night, it would be a nice challenge to clean up the code behind the weblog parts of my site, write a basic install script, and publish it all as a PHP blogging tool. I even came up with a name, albeit pretty weak: Phlogger (which as it turns out, is already taken).

I have, however, plenty of other personal projects I would rather start and finish before even considering taking it further. As you may have noticed, digicam.coza has undergone some (unfinished) major reconstructive surgery to bring it in line with this site.

On the topic of blogs, and having just visited two blogger-powered sites (namely taminthecity & rockit), there are two things that annoy me about blogger:
1. The archive/permalink naming convention: for example, wtf is the reasoning behind giving an anchor link the href of "/2003_06_01_archive.php#105463923212601364" !?
2. Popup windows aren't named exclusively: for example, visiting Tam's site, I clicked on a link to comment, but this page loaded in the same popup window in which I was still busy writing a comment for Nat's site.

And on that note, and having taken to heart Warrenski's feedback, I'll be making an effort to sound less condescending in future posts. ;]
