I moved into a new apartment today
I moved into a new apartment today. The only furniture I have is inflatable, the only cutlery I have is a plastic fork and chopsticks (thanks to tonight’s take-away), I have a fridge magnet but no fridge, and I’m connected to the web via a bluetooth connection to my cell (new number on my contact page) which is dialed … view full post
I missed my return flight
I discovered yesterday morning that I’d missed my return flight to South Africa by 10 days. D’oh.. so much for thinking it was booked for September. So £350 later (it was the cheapest option by 100%) and I’m now sitting with a 20 hour one-way flight which has a stop-over in Qatar, complete with boneless chicken … view full post
What’s next, blog dinners?!
I managed to restrain myself from blogging for the past few hours, because I’ve definately evolved from experimental blogger into part-of-daily-schedule blogger. It’s unsettling, I’m fighting the urge to add a “to blog” folder to my Personal Bookmarks Toolbar. What’s next, blog dinners?!
I’m ok with this realisation, provided I maintain a certain level of originality to justify the time spent. … view full post
Venice, Rome, Florence and the Vatican City
The best smell when you’re backpacking? A clean towel.
Even better? A clean, dry towel.

Considering three of my websites were involved in your local standard-compliancy study (this one, the V&A Waterfront and the Cape Town BIG 6), I feel I should say … view full post

We have the Kaizer Chiefs.
They have the Kaiser Chiefs.
Welakapela
I was just playing Tetrinet (my playing time stat is sitting at 97hrs 34mins 47 secs) … when I found myself typing, out of nowhere, “welakapela”. A childhood taunt of unknown origin. Even Google and Everything2.com don’t provide any answers on this one. Any ideas?

Toasters in the sea by warrenski. Sounds like a potential horror movie. Read quick before it disappears – the man’s updatage is more frequent these days than the number of continuity errors in the Matrix trilogy.
Nice one bruva.

Is your website accessible without the “www” subdomain?
It suprises me how many big name domain names aren’t configured to resolve without the “www” subdomain. Not only is this bad practice – the website becomes less accessible when typing in the URL manually – but it will also cause problems when publicizing links to other mediums such as print or radio, where the “www” is considered as clutter.
