Who The Fuck Is Kevin Pietersen?

I thought I'd be more upset that Allan Donald, one of South Africa's most successful bowlers ever and one of my favourite cricketers growing up, is now coaching England's Twenty20 (nice site!) team. Especially with fellow expat Kevin Pietersen also having crossed the boundary.

But after their dismal performance on the field tonight, I've realised that he's taught them exactly everything they need to know: how to drop catches, how not to dive for catches, and how to confuse each other over who will take the catch.

Good on you Allan - what a guy! As for Kevin Pietersen:

And that's that. I'm off to watch the rest of the game and nurse my raging hangover after yesterday at Newlands!

UPDATE: w00t! South Africa beat England by 19 runs. Who's sorry now...

Unfortunately, i’ve not seen a single match of the Twenty20 Worldcup since my satellite subscription does not offer the channels its being aired on:(. Besides i just checked the scores online and England needs a good 92 runs from 54 balls~~This is going to be close though~

And no wonder Allan Donald was a great bowler ever, yes he was, i personally loved his and Shaun Pollock’s attack that would knock out the opening squad of any team, even the Aussies and WIndies and Sirlankan’s and not to forget Pakistan. Though there is only one blunder to his name i think and that was in the 1999 Worldcup Semi Final i guess when he got run out when SA lost a match they had already won!

What a weekend for South African sport – first we thump the poms in the rugby on Friday, and then we make them feel silly in the cricket today. Woohooo!! \o/

Shaal, if you’re in the UK, you can watch the T20 matches for free on channel 815 (Geo UK) on your digibox. The commentary is in Urdu or some other language I don’t understand, but you can listen to the commentary on 5Live or 5Live Sports Xtra (it’s about 5 seconds fast, so you can hear the best parts before they happen :-) ). I’ve been doing this all weekend.

Sheesh and I thought the Aussies were petty for knocking Eddie Jones for helping the Springboks.

Come on boys.

Congrats to the SA fans:P~ This was nearly expected and i could smell it right away while i was just posting the comment and two wickets fall in front of me on the live score card.

Collin: Actually am in Pakistan, and in the very much corner of the city where cable subscription won’t come, besides the Local TV channels to our amusement never showed a single match:), though i would have loved to have the URDU version of the commentary as well since its the language i understand!

Shaal: Try downloading a little app called “Sopcast”, its peer to peer television. Then search Google for “Streaming 2020 World Cup cricket”, specifically look out for what channel on Sopcast is showing the game you are after. Then enter the channel number into Sopcast and Bob’s your uncle. I watched the game last night like that, and although lagging at times it works the bomb!

I totally agree with you Damien on Pietersen being a prat! As i’m sure most do! Most English as well! Still a great cricketer though. However, I disagree with your views on Allan Donald and i still have the utmost respect for the guy. He was brought into the England team to help with the bowlers and from what i’ve seen he has showed them a trick or two. Their bowling is getting much tighter! I don’t think think he has much say over how they field.

South Africa chocked England …Specially Morkel performance was stunning. He really makes England pay for lapses. And i agree with you regarding the poor performance of English team in the field. Pathetic!!!

lucky for us — they managed to keep Jonty. He too was going to go to England as their fielding coach. But as for Allan Donald, its a shame. Well the main thing is we still beat them at this and rugby.

Online streaming won’t help much since am on a low bandwidth internet, besides there are always tapes available after the matches, right now Pakistan is facing Sri Lanka and i have to stick to it through an online scoreboard. I think its good enough:)
Cheerio~

BTW Pakistan won defeating Sri Lanka by 33 runs, it was fun just watching the match scores go up and up so fast:)

Yeah, don’t you find that people just abuse blogs.

I mean are they that usefull or is it something that people do because they can and someone they know has it and not because they need one.

Most sites I’ve seen with blogs don’t even need them!

That’s my piece of the thrown…

Allan Donald is England’s bowling coach, not the fielding coach. England are bowling much better since he took over. As far as dropping catches goes, has anyone noticed Ross Taylor (NZ)? He’s dropping absolute sitters in every game in crunch situations.
