Cape Town’s new host city logo for 2010

The logo depicts the city's defining icon, Table Mountain, under the African sun and with the waters of Table Bay beneath.
It will be used in conjunction with the official emblem, to form a composite logo. [...] the main aim was to create a unique identity that captures the design essence of the official emblem. It had to have a harmonious design relationship with the official logo in order to generate maximum brand impact.
Nice, as simple as that! Well, I was hoping for a penguin playing one bounce, but I suppose the mountain will do. ;) Any guesses for the other host city logos?

The Chicago logo looks great! So simple and clean. And then in contrast is the, um, ‘interesting’ London 2012 logo …
How about this: the 2010 Winter Olympics Logo Controversy, along with this submission.

I quite like it. Simple and quite stereotypical, but clean neat lines, and nice colours.
I wonder if the JHB logo will include a car window and a gun?
