iJol is where it’s at!

Launched this week, iJol is a new South African community-driven event guide. It's an attempt to provide a central knowledge base of popular events, so you know what's going down, and when.

Have you ever had the feeling that there is cool stuff going on, but you just don't know about it? Ever wished you'd been at that awesome party that happened last weekend, that secret gig only a select few knew about, or that once-off movie screening your mate at work raved about the next day?

Where it’s at!Once you've joined you become an iJoller with your own public profile. This allows you to add jols, meet fellow jollers, submit events, upload photos, filter jols by province, and all the other good stuff you'd expect from a social network.

I'd like to see some RSS feeds, a basic search function and more preferences to customize how I receive notifications, for example, but Jon let me know that it's a beta version so I expect that it will grow over time. If you have any feedback be sure to let them know.

Booya!

Bugger. I’m busy working on something very similar, but more around theater and independent crits and reviews.

Will have to keep an eye on this to prevent overlap.

Hey guys, thanks for the props on the site. It’s a work in progress, I’m just keen to share the info and… spread the love ;)

Some Forthcoming Features:
- RSS Feeds
- Email Notifications
- Possibly reviews/articles in the future (Brenton?)
