2007 South African Blog Awards finalists
The finalists for the 2007 South African Blog Awards were announced today, so head on over to the site and have your say. Ensure that you submit a valid e-mail address because you'll be required to confirm your vote.
Thanks to whoever nominated digicam.coza for best photographic blog - I requested for it to be substituted. As it happens I've recently spent some time moving some of those albums over to Flickr, with the intention of retiring the site (despite what I said last year). It hasn't been updated since 2004, it's hogging too much server space and bandwidth, and quite honestly there's some stuff up there I'd prefer to just not have online anymore (no, nothing like that!).
So if you ever contributed to the Users album, please know that I'll leave the site up for another week or two, after which I'll redirect it to my Flickr page. Apologies to all the MySpace/LiveJournal/Friendster/Xanga people using my photos for backgrounds.. deal with it.
I attended the 2nd Cape Town Flickr Meetup on Sunday in Kalk Bay, great fun - check out some of the pics from the day in the group pool.
Lastly, two quick music recommendations if you enjoy easy-listening, soft indie rock: England's The Feeling (check out Sewn for a taste, thanks lee-ly!), and Cape Town's own Palms Up - who I caught again at the Armchair last Tuesday. The nicest, most down to earth band around. They're regulars at Cape to Cuba on Sundays, check them out and support SA music!

speaking of The Feeling… i stumbled upon (like you do) this incredible pic of them…
David: eh? :)
OD: Damn that’s good..!! thanks. (that dude is really paranoid about copyrights though, really spoils the mood)
OMG – having you in 2 categories with me this year… bit concerning. But I think you know how powerful coda.co.za is, and at the end of the day it definitely about giving credit where credit is due. And i think you know what an inspiration you/ this site/ (and the things you do) is.
tripeak: your kind-hearted words mean more to me than any award, thank you.

I’m curious what made you change your mind. Didn’t you tell, no more Flickr?
