World’s first Extreme Hotel launches in Cape Town
The world's first Extreme Hotel aimed at extreme sports enthusiasts has launched in Cape Town, and is managed by Protea Hotels.
The 130-room hotel in Cape Town's city centre boasts stunning views of Table Mountain and features a five-storey climbing wall on the exterior of the hotel.
The hotel's swimming pool has been designed to look like an aquarium: The swimming pool is adjacent to the 30mm thick glass windows of the hotel's restaurant, giving diners an underwater view of swimmers.
The men's urinals appear to be suspended on scaffolding at the edge of the building while the inside of the hotel's elevator simulates being inside a shark cage (thanks to life-size floor-to-ceiling photography).
Rooms will cost a standard R615 (£45) a night and include free broadband internet access.
I love the sound of that!

I spoke to someone who has a similar business just around the corner, they did something together or other.
She reckons it aint so great, people who are extreme want to be outdoors, not watching videos inside. She said this after seeing some of the customers who were there, not exactly the sporty type.
I dunno, maybe I have a feeling that the people who will go there will probably be people who want to look extreme, and like watching X-Games, but not really that into actually doing the sport. It would of course be great if I was wrong.
Its quite a great funky hotel, the design is incredible and better to stay then a boring 50 year old Holiday Inn..
They (CapeTownMagazine.com) also offer specials with extreme things to do in Cape TOwn included, quite good offers by the looks of it..
