Blog-Off Competition
So my *cough* favourite Media24 group (News24.com and M-Web) held a Blog-Off Competition last month, offering cash prizes totalling R9000 for the most popular blogs based on popularity and strength of content. Maybe you were quick enough to get your blog entered - the competition had already closed to new entries before I'd even heard about it.
The winners were supposed to be announced on Tuesday this week. But not even a suggestion of a peep so far - I guess it's to be expected. Media24 just continue to rack up popularity points, don't they...

So, don’t you think it’s about time, that ‘we’ (assuming i am part of the group) take control of this? You know south africa still believes in ‘cotrolling web content’, most companies are not aware of things that most of us have taken to be standard, as that article put it: ‘authentic media’;
So, I think we need to setup a ’space’ for bloggin if you can call it that. Hey, I remember I saw south african bloggers site or something like that, they too had a competition in the same context,,, I think corporations should only support these online ‘events’ but not claim to own these events, nah mean?
Alas, this means I must finish off the ‘cms’ i am building so we can take over.
Ya, I didn’t hear about it til now, pity! I know that there was a post over at cherryflava’s website, a local blog competition or something, with some foto’s, etc. Maybe we shld do some thing about this!
That was the SA Blog Awards 2006 – FYI > coda.co.za was one of the sites nominated. RE: news24… not too sure whats going on over there, but maybe they decided to pull the competition.
As I’ve said before (think on Jo’Blog) if this goes to any blog other than those nominated for the SA Blog Awards it’s a bloody sham!
Snap- I also wonder what ever happened to this Blog-off…maybe it blogged off
Seems that the winners have now been announced. Head over to: http://www.news24.com/promotions/blogoff/

Well at least I heard about it, but as I mentioned in my post: http://greenman.co.za/b2evolution/blogs/index.php?p=273&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1
the entry page was seriously broken :) I emailed their technical contact. I should be used to it by now, but, unsurprisingly, got no response.
