Everyone’s A Junkie
Hah I found it - the song that's been singing in my head this week...
Big Green Monkey
Everyone's A Junkie
Addictive chorus. It comes off (another Canadian great) Our Lady Peace's 'Spiritual Machines'. Their 'Healthy In Paranoid Times' album is what got me hooked and I think I have rockit to thank for that.
I saw *Will Smith voice* Tsotsi with my own homies yesterday evening, and was reminded why I hadn't been to the cinema in months. Speaking over a film is one thing, incorrectly guessing the outcome of a scene seconds before it actually happens... Priceless. But so damn annoying. Laughing at inappropriate times is another pet hate, I sometimes wish cinemas would have those laugh/clap/cry 'Simon Says' boards for those of us that have no appreciation for a good drama. D-E-C-E-N-C-Y!
The sub-titles were amusing and interesting at times: the swaring substitutions, and that they didn't translate "Ja" into "Yes" for some reason.
Familiar with some of director Gavin Hood's earlier work (but excluding that late 80's TV rugby show, 'The Game'), I was second-guessing the plot myself and half-expected a more powerful ending, but overall really enjoyed it. Check it out and support SA film, s'good!

Nice one!
Uh.. NO. I like OWN introducing rights to that band mate – well, except for Vern who introduced it to me in 2000.
The Gravity album is arguably their best; yes, it’s mainstream, but songs like ‘All for You’ and ‘Not Enough’ are just sooo good to sing along to! My favourite song of their off the new album HIPT is ‘Apology’.
Tsotsi should hit Surrey Quays next week, so keen!
haha. I bought ‘Gravity’ this week and have it playing in my car. I’ve got track 4 (‘Innocent’) on repeat, the rest hasn’t grown on me yet.
4 + 5, NINE, not “Leven!!!!
The other albums are D-E-C-E-N-T too… I kill albums to death, this month I’ve done my work on the new N.E.R.D album, fly or die, which is amazing…
I liked Tsotsi. I didn’t feel sorry for him. It helped me humanise these violent crimes. It helped me realise that some people are simply out to get you.
I still have not seen it, everybody is raving about it.
