Burnt

Burnt on Flickr, a photo by Steve Crane:

More photos in the pool Cape Town is on Fire. Respect the mountain, bru.

And in other news, a picnic at a popular False Bay beach resort turned into a nightmare for a Cape Town family when a baboon ripped open their four-year-old boy's stomach (via IOL). Respect the baboon too, bru.

Hi there, i agree with respecting the mountain, especially since its cig butts that are causing these fires. But on the baboon story however, mmm……i dont think that a four year old could have driven the baboon so crazy having the baboon attack it. Or maybe im reading you wrong here, maybe you are not referring to the little boy or his parents but to the ppl who allow others to invade the baboons space???

Yes, we invade their habitat with little or no knowledge of their behaviour & instincts. I was in no way suggesting the toddler had it coming! – but maybe negligence on his parents’ part, or the conservation authorities in that area. But it was an unfortunate accident imho and I’d rather avoid placing blame.

The same applies to shark attacks, where brainless fools like Godfrey Mocke think it’s ok to hunt and kill Great Whites (a protected species) when we’re the ones encroaching on their territory for swimming pools. As if there isn’t enough water on this planet…

My sentiment exactly!! Its sad that we invade their space and then get all hurdled up when someone gets hurt, wot were they doing there in the first place. I however think that government need to educate (mmm…debatable!). Sad thing is that we should also be allowed to enjoy nature, i love being in the outdoors!

anyway, next time we will kick butt in a game of pool ;)
