My five favourite Firefox extensions
Or incidentally, the only ones I have installed. In no particular order:
- LinkChecker (by Kevin Freitas) - "check webpage links at a glance with simple color coding. Ditch those massive listings of bad links that provide no context and add LinkChecker to your arsenal of web development tools today". Install now.
- Greasemonkey (by Aaron Boodman and Jeremy Dunck) - "lets you to add bits of DHTML ("user scripts") to any web page to change its behavior". Install now. Download scripts at Userscripts.org.
- Web Developer Extension (by Chris Pederick) - "adds a menu and a toolbar to the browser with various web developer tools. The extension is highly configurable and contains many powerful features including CSS manipulation, multiple validation options and tools to display information about the current page". Install now.
- Adblock - "a content filtering extension which allows the user to specify filters, which remove unwanted content (all ads!) based on the source-address". Install now. Download and import my filter set to get started.
- BugMeNot (by Eric Hamiter) - "Bypass compulsory web registration via Firefox's right-click context menu. Visit bugmenot.com for full details of their service". Install now.

You should try ’stumble upon’, although be warned; it’s like a black hole for time…
