38one.com
I'd just spent the past half hour writing a post (in that browser, IE) about this site design and it's colour scheme, the service I provide to myself as my own client, and another site - which happens to crash IE for some reason- that was inspiring the post. I knew this before I revisited for another look, so with cunning foresight I copied my post into the clipboard and proceeded. As you can guess, IE crashed. When I reopened IE to restart the post, the clipboard was empty.
Bollocks.
Basically, visit 38one.com, but not in IE. It's beautifully crafted by Dennis or whoever, I'm too miffed to double check. Sorry mate, I'll revisit this post when my own PC is online again. Oh yeah and it's on a white background, which is something I've considered switching to over the past few weeks, or at least adding it as an alternative style. And some other stuff that only the clipboard monster can reveal.
Blah blah fish cakes. I'm hungry...

Works fine here as well… But then again, our XP installs get updated via SUS (Systems Update Server).
Very nice BTW, simple but does the job.
One of Windows’ mixed blessings is all the integration happening all over the place (without us even knowing about it). Clipboard is linked to IE, which is linked to Explorer, which is linked to Office, which (in our case) is linked to the intranet’s Sharepoint Portal Server, which is linked to blah blah blah…
So one things crashes, and it takes everything down with it… Although it makes things really easy most of the time.
Can’t win!
Dude I have no problems on IE except for the odd layout issue with navigation. I reverted back to IE after I seemed to be missing alot of functionality in sites I was wmissing. I know I’ll use Firefox, but I needed a changce. Give me a shout before you change the colour of your site, you know how we tend to similarly oposite colours etc ;)
I too have been considering changing back over to a white background, but it’s often hard to decide on what other colours to incorporate. Do I focus on something simple such as Textism, or go for the more colourful idea followed by K10K. I think if you are going to change the design of your site, Damien, have it as another optional stylesheet. Don’t change this design, it’s lovely, but do try and avoid using IE! :o)
Just before it crashes I get 3 virus warnings!
That may be why IE bombs out…
Damien
Something wierd is going on r.e. that 38one site…
Here are the virus warnings I get before IE crashes.
Malicious code found in file C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\WXRA.EXE.
Infection: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Small.abq
Action: failed.
Malicious code found in file C:\PROGRAM FILES\INTERNET EXPLORER\KJLBHPMP.EXE.
Infection: Trojan-Downloader.Win32.Small.abq
Action: failed.
However it seems acessible in later attempts but then crashes again with virus warnings.
Maybe that can explain why it crashes.
Cheers
The mysteries of the machine aye Rob… are you sure the antivirus warnings and the website are related? I couldn’t find anything to suggest so. But I did get a crapload of spyware installed on my machine when I opened IE for the first time in ages the other day. Cleaned it up with a combination of tools and ran Windows Update for the first time ever.. hah.
Damien, thanks for pointing it out. After I went with IE and it had the same effect again. I am not a code expert, but I have looked to see if I could find anything that would seem odd, but no luck… or maybe that is a good thing :)
I’ll ask for some help from Texdrive, who are hosting my site and see if they can figure out what’s going on.

Hmmz, doesn’t crash on my box. Tested it with IE 6.0 and 5.5 (both on Win XP). Both didn’t crash, but the site does have some issues with IE (in IE 6.0 the main navigation isn’t clickable).
