Up The Creek Music Festival

What a kief weekend! The annual Savanna Up The Creek Music Festival was awesome - featuring some of SA's best rock acts of today. I only wish I wasn't so tired the whole time, having not slept on my 11hr flight, and then only for a couple hours on Thursday night. And then the heat and humidity adjustment factored in too.

I finally got to see Bed on Bricks (better bio here) live - they're heavier than I expected and really got the crowd and mosh going. I found the energy and tight professionalism of their performance really inspiring. Prime Circle were possibly my favourite unseen band though, but I was half zoned-out by that stage and didn't even have the energy to lift my feet off the ground. Their sound isn't as original or uniquely local when compared to Bed on Bricks and others, though, but hopefully I'll catch them again soon. Until then, BOB again this coming Saturday at the Castle, along with Karen Zoid who I've heard plenty about.

Other highlights: daily swimming in the Breede river (I finished off my underwater disposable from Portugal, so will post those when I get them developed), R8 burgers and KoRn, falling asleep on a duvet in the middle of our camp site beneath the clearest view of the milky way you could ever imagine, winning the cricket, T*M*A*S, and succeeding in some half-decent photos of Plush.

I'd write more but I'm falling asleep, and all photos from the festival are finally uploaded.

Stay tuned!

Chris

I hate you. I thought for some strange reason it might REALLY have been KoRn.

I got all excited and dropped my Piesang Miena Moo :(
