Favourite favourites
While browsing deviantART the other day I came across the archive of Daily Deviants which could be considered as the prime submissions. Their range is as varied as deviantART itself: wallpapers, desktops, photography, poetry, skins, etc. I've picked out my favourites from the latest 700 and have listed them below. The kind of thing that, if you thought you knew a think about photography or design, makes you feel like you don't really. Inspirational work.
- JSM - La nuit va revenir 8 by jmonzani (photography). Lovely contrast.
- POPO emotions by Rokey (emoticons). Best set I've ever seen.
- Blackness by ravenwoodarts (digital art). Black on black, well done.
- The Streets of London 2 by vickibruce (photography). Over-saturated but nice shot.
- E x t e n t by drexer22 (photography). So detailed.
- SuperPLAY Arcade by gunstar-red (pixel art). Even more detailed. Wow.
- Thirst by rebekahlynn (fantasy art). Beautiful - my current desktop.
- Lego System Icons: Preview by Faji-Rojikku (icons). Clever!
- Spiral Escalator by aquapell (photography). I've seen this shot before, but this one tops the list.
- Envision X by loth (wallpaper). Hell yeah, I'll take one!
- _E N D L E S S B R E E D by miagida (vector art).
- Nightlife by creativ82 (fractal design). This style's been done to death, but this one is exceptional.
- JOCID CD Cover by edit-dsn (cd cover). I like the colours and the concept is good too.
- Watch out for ninjas by maxyme (photography). Funny and clean shot.
- necromon by possessedtim (pixel art). Amazing details in these grotesque figures.
And while I'm on the topic, you have to download and install the Alienware AlienMorph™ Suite (40mb). If you're familiar with the sexy Alienware PC designs, you'll love this theme for WinXP. Originally designed for pre-installation on all Alienware systems, but now offered to us mortals for free. Take a look at the picture attached to this blog for a preview - my current desktop setup.
It was created by the talented folk at The Skins Factory, the only company of GUI artists I'm aware of. If the theme is too much for you, at least try their skin for WMP - definately way ahead of it's time.

The artist Nicolaas Maritz describes himself as a “metaphysical artist, whose work represents a geometric visual interpretation of the Aquarian consciousness or the 4th dimension”. The Age of Aquarius represents a time of spiritual evolvement of self.
Like “whoah“, man!
