Abandoned bicycles

Joe in New York has done exactly what I was planning to do last year August - to take photos of the abandoned bicycles, but in London obviously. I started in Hammersmith with a couple of photos.

I guess it interested me so much because as kids, dad would persistently remind us to lock up our bikes. Needless to say they were never stolen, except for one occasion. I'd grown tired of that bike anyway, plus it had that dorky round frame which was so out of fashion (in fact I don't think they were ever in fashion), not to mention the lumo colour scheme. Yay, insurance! ;)

UPDATE: It's bizarre how sometimes it feels like Google knows who you are when you're searching (although it probably does!). I just searched for 'abandoned bikes +london' - the second result is Wandsworth Cyclists: Contact the Authorities - which is the area in which I currently live, and the seventh result is Cape Town to London - five cyclists travelling 10,000 miles for anti-slavery.
