Random factoid for the day

According to NationMaster, the United States spends more money on its military than the next 12 nations combined. But then again, they also say that South African men work only 4.5 hours a day. Pah! Not suprisingly (although I do have faith that it's improving) we're ranked first for the following:

  • Crime - Assaults (per capita)
  • Crime - Death penalty - abolition for ordinary crimes
  • Crime - Manslaughters (per capita)
  • Crime - Murders with firearms
  • Crime - Murders with firearms (per capita)
  • Crime - Rapes (per capita)
  • Health - HIV/AIDS - people living with HIV/AIDS
  • .... etc ...

And who would have guessed that we're in the Top 4 for Education Spending (could just mean we're stupid), or in the Top 5 for English speakers (could just mean we're English).

Nice site.

Shame, leave poor old Chrisless alone. Don’t you remember, he does not associate himself as a SAFFER. ;)

It’s funny about that whole Education Spending Stat, considering that I heard, on the news, the other night that the Total Scores for the following : Maths, Science, Biology ; were all given extra marks, so as to lift the total number of pupils, to pass matric. *PHAH* Guess all that extra spending went towards the salaries for those IDIOT’s calculating on what sort of PERCANTAGE increase would suffice.
