2003 Cricket World Cup tickets
Individual Tickets to be sold in Random Draw
Additional tickets have been released for sale for the Cricket World Cup - South Africa 2003. Tickets will be sold for individual matches and will be made available through a random draw system.
To avoid congestion on ticket sales channels, the public are to be given a four-week window of opportunity starting on October 8 to apply for tickets for individual matches. The Ticket Window Random Draw, sometimes known as a ticket ballot or lottery, will give every applicant an equal chance of getting seats for individual matches. There are no guarantees of success, but no one will be prejudiced. Similar processes are used at the Wimbledon tennis championships, the Olympic Games and for the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
A total of about 100 000 individual tickets are currently available for sale through the random draw.
It will cost R225 to watch South Africa vs West Indies at Newlands, no matter where you're seated.

Frankly speaking I have never heard of something like that. Sure I’m not a big fan of different championships. But I found this random draw system very attractive and fair, like a lottery. So I wish success to everybody!
