HTML to XHTML to HTML

Just over a week ago I converted my site from HTML to strict XHTML. I have come to the conclusion that the world is not yet ready for XHTML, or maybe it's just IE6 - but either way, it wasn't giving me any benefits so I am changing back.

What annoyed me the most is that IE6 simply fails to display a CSS background image if the div is not sized to the same dimentions of your image. Setting the CSS width and height of this background div doesn't work. If I can't do it right then I'm not going to do it at all, hacks are a thing of the past. I'm sick of it.

Anyway, enough of that. This site will soon be back to normal. Some good did come out of my experiment though, I finally found a good way to vertically align content in a div, which strangely does not natively exist in CSS2.
